not at all. i use colored micron pens which when used in different patterns can seem to fully cover areas of the paper and give the effect of having been fully covered. i also for larger areas use cut paper and illustration markers. i have found tricks to making the marker lay completely flat and leaves no marker line. hope that answers your question.
